Department of LAW
Introduction
IIUI Department of Law is established in Fall 2022. The Department of Law is aimed to be an advanced center of knowledge that offer a progressive curriculum in accordance with the demands of market, both within and outside Pakistan. The teaching methodology is designed in particular to enrich and elevate the professional skills of law students. LLB (5 Year) program is tailored to suit the requirements of the society. It has a strong research-oriented philosophy where both academic and applied research will be undertaken in almost every area of law. The academic program and organization at the Department provide a platform for future development in planned fields of study, and growth into associated disciplines.
Accreditation
Department of Law follows the curriculum and courses approved by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), and the Pakistan Bar Council (PBC), a statutory body to regulate legal education in Pakistan. The LL.B program spreads over five years divided into ten semesters. In addition to lectures, seminars, tutorials and other academic support programs, the students at the Department will be strongly encouraged to carry out legal research, and take active part in moot competitions, field work, legal drafting and mock trials with a view to acquire practical Advocacy skills. In the same way, teachers are advised to keep their sessions interactive as the same have proved to be extremely useful in developing critical thinking skills amongst students making them able to appreciate different viewpoints on the same topic.
