Department of LAW
Introduction
Department of Law at IBADAT International University, Islamabad was established in Spring 2023. The Department of Law is recognized as a progressive center of learning that offers an advance curriculum in accordance with the demands of market, both within and outside Pakistan. The teaching methodology is designed in particular to enhance and upgrade the professional skills of law students. LLB is a professional degree program that is tailor-made to suit the needs of the society. It has a strong research-oriented ethos where both theoretical and practical research is undertaken in the professional field of law.
Accreditation
Department of Law follows the curriculum and courses approved by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), and the Pakistan Bar Council (PBC), a statutory body to regulate legal education in Pakistan. The LLB programme spreads over four years divided into eight semesters. In addition to lectures, seminars, tutorials and other academic support programs, the students at the Department are strongly encouraged to carry out legal research, and take active part in moot competitions, field work, legal drafting and mock trials with a view to acquire practical Advocacy skills. In the same way, teachers are advised to keep their sessions interactive as the same have proved to be extremely useful in developing critical thinking skills amongst students making them able to appreciate different viewpoints on the same topic.
